KINGDOM CHRONICLES, 7553

Notes from the Realms in Exile

On 30 Norui 7553 / June 15, 2000, The Rt. Hon. the Baron Anfalas, Anor Principal King of Arms, granted an achievement of arms to Dr. Jon Michael Bruce Porter, NOM, the former Mayor of Caras Nimduin. It was the first such grant of Lord Anfalas's term as King of Arms, and the first grant to a commoner in over a decade. Lord Anfalas is author of the definitive study The Knights of the Crown: The Monarchical Orders of Knighthood in Later Medieval Europe, recently released in a second edition by the Boydell Press. At left, Lord Anfalas, His Grace the Regent, and Dr. Porter at a session of the Medieval Congress in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
In mid-Cerveth of 7553 (June-July, 2000) His Grace the Regent, Lord and Lady Methedhras, the Hon. Caroline Massey and the Hon. DeAnna Massey, travelled to England, where they visited London, York, Jarrow, Durham, the Lake District, Lichfield, Salisbury and Winchester. At left, Lord Methedhras and daughters stand in two hemispheres at Greenwich. At right, His Grace the Regent at St. Paul's Church, Jarrow, the remaining portion of the monastery in which St. Bede lived and worked.
