KINGDOM CHRONICLES, 7551

Notes from the Realms in Exile

On 20 Girithron 7551 (5 December 1998), The Rt. Hon. Viscountess Tookland, Mayor of Caras Anduinad, and some of her citizens gathered for dinner for the first time in several years at the Cheshire Inn, previously the site of Bree Moot 2. In lieu of arrears in the City's annual tribute of two quarts of strawberries, the Mayor presented  His Grace the Duke of Númenor, Regent with a hand-blown glass goblet. Between courses, His Grace gave informal remarks on the history of the Kingdoms and of the City ("Sounds like they started as the Harvard Chess Club," one guest murmured.) After dinner, His Grace raised Sir Stewart Burns, who had been admitted to the Order of Valandil at BreeMoot 2, to the dignity of Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Flame of Anor. Sir Eric Hadley-Ives, who had presented Sir Stewart on the former occasion, performed that office again. The Rt. Hon. the Viscount Tookland, Secretary of State, administered the Oath of Recognition to Messrs. Richard Ferguson, Scott MacLeod, and Drew Pilkerton. Also present were the Baron Hunnewell-of-Tuckborough, Lady Hadley-Ives and Master Sebastian Hadley-Ives. The evening concluded with serving of a cake in honor of Sir Stewart's eighteenth birthday.

On 25 Narbeleth 7551 (11 October 1998),  Augustus Kram Mendelsohn was the guest of honor at a reception at the Caras Anduinad home of Dr. and Mrs. George E. Mendelsohn, his grandparents. The infant star of the day was accompanied by his parents, The Rt. Hon. the Baron Dunharrow, Lord High Chancellor, and Lori Kram (Lady Dunharrow), and his elder brother, the Hon. Nicholas Kram Mendelsohn.  Among the guests were His Grace the Duke of Númenor, Regent; Sir Eric Hadley-Ives, K.E.; Lady Hadley-Ives; and their son, Sebastian Hadley-Ives.
